Liberty Prints...

I love Liberty fabrics… love might even be an understatement.

These fabrics I’m using are a limited edition range from Liberty brought out for the Victoria and Albert Museum’s Quilts: 1700 – 2010 exhibition.

I’m always hesitant to cut into new fabrics but this time I couldn’t resist. I was inspired by Film in the Fridge to revisit hexagons. I’m not sure what I’ll make from these hexagons yet… perhaps cushion covers.

I just love the process of english paper piecing –  the slow pace of hand sewing. Stay tuned for the final product.

Patchwork for the Pickle...

I’m halfway into making a quilt for Liz’s baby (pickle). Hopefully it will work for either a boy or a girl!

Printed Fabric…...

I printed these fabrics using designs carved into lino blocks.  I learnt this at a fabric printing class run at the Brisbane Institute of Art a couple of years ago. I haven’t had the chance to get back to fabric printing for a year or so… I wish I had a studio with huge tables to work on…
